Independent Producer

As a free-lance producer, Lynne works with small businesses and corporations as well as education, government, and community organizations to create custom designed entertainments, training films, live events, and trade shows.  She has written, directed, and/or produced award-winning projects for clients ranging from the United Way, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Indiana Historical Society to Eli Lilly & Company, Discover Card, and the Charles C. Brandt Construction Company to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Eiteljorg Museum, and various school, faith-based, and community service organizations.  She has also produced new plays for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the IndyFringe Festival.

The Misadventures of Martin Hathaway
Earlham College - 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The premiere production of Lynne's  stage adaptation of Kathryn Clare Glen's novel was created through a faculty-student collaborative research course  at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.  The show premiered at Earlham with public performances and a school matinee performance in April then toured to the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland.  For more information about the collaborative process, the student company, and the touring experience, please visit our website:     https://misadventuresofmartin.wordpress.com/  

 

The Misadventures of Martin Hathaway begins as a hapless young history teacher on the verge of major life changes falls through space and time to land on Airship Captain Daisy Fitzgerald McNamara's coffee table -- the most self-assured female he's ever met.  In this steam-punk fantasy adventure, Martin and the eccentric crew of the A.S. Nephthys travel throughout Arnica gathering puzzle pieces that reveal why Martin is at the center of a plot threatening the free people of the Lost Valley who are under Daisy's protection.  Stay tuned for  The Further Misadventures of Martin Hathaway in  2021.

Bridgework Touring Theatre

Producer -  (2004 – 2008)

Bridgework Touring theatre performed original contemporary issue plays for over 2 million children in thousands of schools throughout the Midwest and East Coast from 1980 to 2008. At its height, two companies were based in Indiana and two in Washington D.C. As Midwest Producer, her responsibilities included attending national auditions, recruitment and casting, hiring and supervision of all artistic personnel, actor training, supervision, and company management. She also directed four to six plays a season from 1992 to 2008.

Mud Creek Players’ Barn RATS

Co-Director  -  (2004-2013)

Responsible for curriculum design, staffing, supervision and instruction of six one week “Really Awesome Theatre School” camps for elementary and middle school students each summer.  Graduates of the RATS program, supported by this theatre, recently developed a teen driven program to serve high school students.

Off the Cuff

Co-Producing Director -  (1997 – 2009)

Off the Cuff, a troupe of professional improv actors, performed for audiences of all ages. Part of the Young Audiences of Indiana roster, the troupe also offered creative dramatics, conflict management, and teacher workshops. In addition, the troupe performed for public entertainment and business training audiences.

Artistic Director - (1989 – 1998)

An educational outreach of Community Health Network’s Employee Assistance Program, this unique theatre company uses improvisational & interactive theatre techniques to raise awareness of personal, organizational, and social issues in order to facilitate group problem-solving for youth serving agencies, health providers, community, school, church, government, and corporate clients. Responsibilities In addition to actor recruitment, training, and company management, included product quality management, client liaison work, pre-presentation preparation and scene development. Video projects received an Emmy Award, Golden Apple Award, and Peabody and Emmy Award nominations; responsibilities ranged from producer to director to scriptwriter, casting director, and consultant  Administrative tasks ranged from personnel supervision to scheduling and performance coordination, to supervision of the voucher payment system and management of project budgets. Long range business planning duties included marketing & sales as well as research & development of new products/services.

Bonderman National Youth Theatre

Playwright Symposium

Conference Manager - 2003

Now known as the Write Now Festival hosted by Childsplay Theatre, this national biennial playwriting competition, development workshop and symposium is committed to improving the quality of theatre for young audiences.  This conference was a collaboration between the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis Department of Communication Studies (IUPUI) and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Responsibilities ranged from liaison work between all individuals & organizations involved to hospitality & travel arrangements to hiring of actors & stage managers to coordination of volunteers and management of the development workshop.
