Lynne Perkins Socey

Lynne Perkins Socey is a professional actress, director, casting director, producer, educator and creativity consultant with more than thirty-five years of experience.  A founding board member of The Richmond Shakespeare Festival, Lynne has also served as Artistic Director of Picture This, as Co-Producing Director of Off the Cuff, and as Producer and Resident Director for Bridgework Touring Theatre.  Lynne is an Associate Professor and currently serves as Convener of the Earlham College Theatre Arts Department.

Committed to theatre as the art of compassion, Lynne’s research interests include creative collaboration, Expressive Actor Training (Lugering Method), Theatre for Young Audiences, Interactive & Social Issues Theatre, and Responsible Story-telling – especially as regards development and/or improvement of contemporary theatre practices, policies, community partnerships, organizational infrastructure, and training of young citizen-artists.
